Get ready to celebrate Alberta’s farming heritage at the “Barnyard Blitz” and head over to Alberta Avenue for the Deep Freeze Festival. Experience a beautiful mix of cultures—Ukrainian, French-Canadian, Indigenous, Latin American, and Asian—through art, performances, and great eats! Try out some snowshoeing, eat bannock by the fire, listen to stories, see incredible ice sculptures, and get active by part-taking in games like freezer races, axe-throwing, and some classic street hockey!

Winterruption YEG is another one of Edmonton’s great winter festivals, turning downtown into a hub for music, arts, and community! Since it started in 2019, it has joined up with other Canadian cities to put on Winterruption events like Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, and Calgary. The festival celebrates the city’s creative scene by highlighting a wide range of music, shows, and comedy, all in a winter wonderland setting.

The Flying Canoë Volant, is a celebration that brings Edmonton’s history and culture to life. Inspired by the legend of The Flying Canoe and rooted in French Canadian, First Nations, and Métis traditions, this event lights up the French Quarter and Mill Creek Ravine with beautiful lightworks that you’re going to want to see!

If you’re looking for a fun experience for the whole family, check out the Broadway rendition of Frozen! This show is full of surprises, laughs, and music that’ll have you singing along. With everyone’s favorite songs from the movie — For the First Time in Forever, Do You Want to Build a Snowman? And of course, Let It Go. It’s a feel-good show that's fit for audiences of all ages!

SkirtsAfire is a festival that celebrates the talent of women artists. With an incredible lineup of theatre, music, dance, comedy, visual art, spoken word, workshops, and design, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Set up in the lively Old Strathcona district, this festival turns the area into a hub with unique events spread across venues like the ATB Arts Barns and The Gateway Theatre, as well as pop-up performances and art installations that add some magic to the businesses along Whyte Avenue.
